As announced before we are going to have a rest of playing live of considerable length after having played a fabulous concert last Saturday. Weather was awesome, great bands, excellent organisation (both thumbs up to a very motivated Rocking Mountains team!) and lots of Jägermeister as well :) Pics can be seen here.
Don't worry, we will not laze around but indulge in being industrious, preparing the release of our 2nd long-player which is about to be released in autumn - more info will be delivered after the summer.
In the meantime have a wonderful time, enjoy the sun, the sea, the beach, enjoy yourself but don't forget us! You will hear from us in September!
Your Roogas

Having played 2 festivals the previous weekends (pics are already online - facebook, myspace) we are ready to hit the stage again this Saturday sweating and rocking away at legendary Rocking Mountains Festival in Carinthia.
Afterwards we will take a live break, preparing the release of our new record which will be in stores in autumn, details to be announced!
Meanwhile Alex is about to record the last missing guitar parts, overdubs and solos in the studio. Then it is high time for mixing and mastering our tunes.
We are mighty thrilled and hope you are as well!

RECORDING UPDATE
Last weekend Kati and Victor finished all vocals for our upcoming album and on Monday Alex started recording lots of additional guitars – stay tuned!
By the way - last week’s gig at HMDW Sommerfest was a lot of fun (check out the pics!) and we’re looking forward to the next Open Air on Saturday, when we’ll play at Integrationsfest (Bacherpark, Vienna) along with some other great bands like Rocquette, Circle of Light, …
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------June 3rd 2010
RECORDING UPDATE
So far, so fine: All bass, drums and also some juicy rhythm guitars finished.
Pics are already online.
We are taking a short break to play a concert next Wednesday at Musikuni to kick-start the HMDW-Campus Open Air party, then we (actually just Kati) will hit the studio again to record breathtaking vocal tracks followed by awesome guitar overdubs and other exciting stuff.
We are definitely having loads of fun in the studio, so watch out for further news!

May 19th 2010
What a week!!!
Playing a show just before dawn at Riverside Festival and freezing at our first Open Air 2010 (Rockt die Burg) – but we had a lot of fun! Convince yourself by watching the pictures – thanks to Isa for the great shots!
But no time to relax – tomorrow we’ll rock
„Weiberrock“ at Kulturzentrum HOF (Linz) together
with Esthesia and we’re really looking forward to
the gig!
This gig will be our last before the studio recordings for our new album,
but stay tuned – we’ll keep you posted about what’s going
on.

May 11th 2010
As we have already announced, we are taking a short time-out from our studio
preparations to start right into the beloved festival season
tomorrow at Riverside Festival.
Actually it was planned to be an open air concert but due to some, ahem
let's call them volume restrictions or loudness regulations, the whole festival
venue has been transferred to cult location Warehouse,
which is after all a pretty good change, don't you think?
There are some very nice bands playing with us, definitely worth being checked
out namely The Staggers, I Am Cereals and The Killerpilze,
just to drop a few names!
Not only the location has changed... our stage time as
well!
All you night-lovers,vampires and the ones having trouble to sleep at night
will be delighted to hear that we will rock the stage at about 1:30
a.m. A pretty unique stage time, isn't it?
Don't worry - The "real" open air season is
about to start just 2 days later namely on Friday when we hit the stage
at "Rockt die Burg" in Weiten in Lower Austria.
We will be on stage as early as 10 p.m., playing right before Headliner
"Muttermilch".
Our guts-feeling screams: It will be awesome!! Full Blast Rock!
Then it's time to re-enter our cosy rehearsal room, which
by the way is about the size of a tiny storeroom, to continue working on
the new songs - we'll keep you posted!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 26th 2010
The first two gigs after a pretty long time of not
playing live have been a lot of fun, especially the Brainsmash
last Friday was a blast of a show. Those people know how to rock, great
crowd, indeed.
Before we start into the highly anticipated open-air season at Riverside-Festival
on the 12th of May, we are delighted to be part of the
jury at the big finals of the International Live
Award on the first of May in the Viennese Prater.
We are really looking forward to this event for there are some pretty awesome
bands rocking the stage. One thing we'd like to have though is nice weather
so eat up and cross your fingers for some sunrays.
See you there and ..... get this party started!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 30th 2010
No, we didn't split.
We didn't take a break either we simply were too busy to keep you posted
so here's a short update:
As you have probably noticed, smart people that you are, there are already
some nice concerts and festivals listed on our schedule
and the list is still growing. Before we end our time of
"not playing live" which, by the way, is pure torture for "alive
to play live" addicts that we are, on the 15th of April at
Babü, we will continue working on, improving, rearranging
and tinkering with new material.
We are totally in love with the new tunes and hopefully
the new Rooga album will be released by autumn
this very year. Keep your fingers crossed :)
We can't wait to go to the studio, record, release and hit the stage.
Excited, crazed and thrilled. What about you?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
January 27th 2010
Supporting Living Colour turned out to be even better than
we had imagined in our wildest musicians' dreams:
a completely packed venue filled with a great crowd, amazing
show of Living Colour and on top of it even a very cool Nirvana cover (in
Bloom) which by far blew the original version away.
How much more can you wish for? Some pics
are already online, more to come soon, meanwhile we'll have a short abstinence
of live concerts and return to our rehearsing room, continue working on
new material, transcribing, improving, deleting, refining songs and ideas
because, guess what?
We're planning to release a brand-new Rooga album this year,
so be excited, be very excited, for at least we are!
In the meantime: Rock on :)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
January 15th 2010
2010 has already started out with heavy rocking vibes and
that's the spirit we're trying to maintain!
Impressive pics of our concert at B72 are online
and we can't wait to hit the stage on Saturday at TU Fest,
when Ottakringer Brauerei in Vienna is the place to be.
Be there since it's gonna be a hell of a party for sure.
Another gig we are mighty thrilled to play is set on the 25th
namely our support for legendary funk rock heroes of LIVING
COLOUR!
We are pretty excited and honoured to share a stage with those guys.
Demand for tickets has been huge so there are only a few tickets
left, be quick and get one of those from us for 20 Euros
instead of 27 before they are all gone, nearly a bargain, don't
you think?
Enough said, back to the rehearsal room to play them instruments, see you
at one of our shows!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
December 22nd 2009
After an eventful and rather busy prechristmas time, an interesting
acoustic
show at Mulatschag (we met Santa there) and another great gig played
at Warehouse last Saturday we are really looking forward to taking a good
nap and relaxing for some days.
Nevertheless the first gig dates for 2010 are already determined and more are about to come.
We wish you all a fantastic Christmas and a happy new year!
We don't know yet what to expect from 2010, but one thing is for sure:
It's gonna rock!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
December 8th 2009
Another sleepless weekend!
Braunau caught us by surprise, fine concert in a great club although on
a Thursday and the gig in Vienna was awesome too. Well, see you
guys in 2010 then! Happy Hanuka!
***********************************************************************************************
You gotta be kidding if you really thought you'd get rid of us so easily
:)
For all you Rooga addicts out there we've still got two delicacies
up our sleeves.
To begin with there's another Christmas concert set on
the 19th, this year in St. Poellten where
we got to play at one of Austria's biggest indoor parties namely Melting
Pot thanks to your diligent voting activities. Thanks
a lot for the support! We can't wait to hit the stage.
Secondly we are invited to play a short acoustic set in
the X-mas edition of Mulatschag (Okto TV). We don't want
to give away too much now to keep you shakin with anticipation, but be excited
and thrilled as you will hear a couple of Rooga tunes like you never
heard them before.
We'll keep you posted about exact date and time so stay tuned and enjoy
a rocking pre-Christmas season.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
December 1st 2009
Rocking Salzburg's finest youth club Corner on Saturday
was great fun, but there's no rest for us as we are heading westwards on
Thursday hitting the stage in Braunau's Club2 together
with our wonderful Jaegermeister colleagues of Random Fall.
Then there's a Friday of sleeping late, restringing and polishing our instruments
and vocal cords and reloading our worn out energy cells planned since we
are looking forward to supporting our dear friends of Weird
in Vienna's Replugged on Saturday.
But it's not merely a regular concert. It's gonna be for sure a huge
party as Weird is about to present their brand-new album "Equilibrium
at Risk" a concert not to be missed, we hope to see you there!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
October 29th 2009
In spite of Victor's persistent cold he bravely withstood his illness
filled up with medicine and we had a fabulous weekend after all.
Saturday we played in Grafendorf and it
was a blast, we definitely enjoyed ourselves on the (tiny but nevertheless
awesome) stage.
So did the Styrian fans who were amazing, time and time again. We'll be
back, you guys rock(ed)!
Sunday we made an altogether new experience namely appearing
as a showband at the Big
Brother Awards at Rabenhof, presenting our brand-new song "Distorted
Reality". The show was broadcasted among other places to the MQ in
Vienna and open air to Graz and in the Audimax. A cool evening. You can
find pics of the Awards here (Joanna
Pianka, Thomas
Bredenfeld, Maximilian
Wilhelm)
AND: it's voting-time again! We really want to play at
Melting Pot (VAZ St.Pölten) on December 19th
and as the line-up is created by an online-voting we need your support!
Just go to Melting Pot
Page, chose ROOGA in the category "Live Band", type in your
data and VOTE! Thank you very much!!!
Now we're back in our rehearsal room, recovering for the gigs in November
and December, being industrious and creative, writing and working on new
material so keep your eyes and especially your ears open!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
October 24th 2009
Now that the first heralds of winter are there, we're preparing for
our next weekend touring Austria. Unfortunately we had to cancel our first
gig yesterday due to a bad cold Victor has caught.
We're glad that he's feeling better now, so tonight we'll
rock the anniversary celebration of Café / Pub Villa in
Grafendorf and tomorrow we'll be the showband
at Big Brother Awards (Rabenhof / Vienna).
For broadcast and live stream of the Awards
just check their website.
Moreover there’s a nice article about us in the
blog „Ideen
für Wien“ – have fun reading it!

October 6th 2009
Softly weeping we're standing here, looking back at our little tour
through Austria with the fantastic band JB's
FIRST from Munich, wonderful people, marvellous entertainers
and great musicians as well.
We've been dancing and shaking to their irresistible funky
grooves every evening, you just can't help it!
We are really looking forward to see them again as soon as possible in Germany
but not only the band was great:
The audience amazed us, too.
From creative Styrian fans who demonstrated the correct
use of Rooga stickers to our dear, faithful Viennese Fanbase
who showed up and rocked the club despite of the time being Sunday, next
day having to work and everything.
Thank you very much.
Now we're going to move back to our tiny rehearsal room in order to work on our Big Brother song for the awards and other new material, besides we have a nice little surprise up our sleeve waiting for you, more info to be pronounced :)

Vienna for a start. Then on Friday Neusiedl is the coolest
place to be. Saturday we check out the audience in Lafnitz
and finally we rock the stage of Vienna's finest Chelsea
on Sunday!
On our tour we will be supported by one of Germany's hottest Funk Rock units namely JB's First.
Furthermore there will be some nice specials to be picked
up along the way so don't miss the shows!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
September 9th 2009
Our first autumn gig has been played and consisted
of pure female energy.
We shared the (mad)stage with rock colleagues Cosmic Edge and Rocquette
which have just returned from their US tour.

September 1st 2009
Our rock n roll summer ended last Saturday as energetic and sparkling
as ever, at Rock im Steinfeld - pics are already online!
No need to shed any tears though, because we promise the autumn's gonna
be hot and ass-kicking loud too!!
There are already about a dozen gigs on our schedule and
the list is still growing.
A particular delicacy will be the 25th of October when
we will proudly present our very own Big Brother Song at the Big
Brother Awards in Vienna at Rabenhof.
There's no business like showbusiness. Rooga goes showband
:)
There'll be a live broadcast and radio stream of the gala, we'll keep you updated about the details!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------August 16th 2009
Wow, what a rock’n’roll Saturday – we’re still recovering from two really hot gigs in Styria – those people really know how to rock!!
Pics are already online!
As you probably already noticed, our gig list grows and grows, so there
are many possibilities for you to watch ROOGA live. And
since Saturday ROOGA gigs got a new dimension, as we received a whole bunch
of stunning Jägermeister goodies – and generous
as we are, we`ll give away some of them during EACH concert!
So make sure to visit a ROOGA gig in your hometown and catch a Jägermeister
goodie.
The next Rock’n’Roll weekend is almost there – on Saturday
29th of August we`ll rock Rock in Steinfeld in
Carinthia – be there!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
July 30th 2009
We're only happy when it rains.
Not really, but despite some harmless raindrops we celebrated an awesome
beach party on Friday at Szene Vienna, bathing trunks, beach balls, dysfunctional
water spray guns, beach boys and flower girls included. It sure was a lot
of fun and the audience was once again amazing, thanks a lot.
Pics are already online for those who missed the show and
want to get an impression of the summer :)
At the 8th of August there are even 2 festival
gigs on the same day on our schedule. Late in the afternoon we
are going to rock the stage of Styria Rocks and then in
the evening Hot Summer Rock will be our destination, both
festivals located in Styria as the name implies. We'll keep you posted for
further information on Twitter.
So long - We'll see you around, there are lots of fine concerts to be played!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
July 10th 2009
Yesterday's gig at Local with Princess Sparkling at
Lena's birthday party has been a lot of fun, thanks a lot
for coming!
Pics of the concert are already online, definitely worth seeing, ROOGA
all in
black and white :)

rock bands! Oh yeah, be there!
People who turn up in bathing outfit get a free drink and there will also
be some nice features not to be missed!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
July 3rd 2009
Our gig at Donauinselfest has been a big success -
great stage, great crowd, if only the weather would have been a bit nicer
but to quote our dear new sponsor JAEGERMEISTER - "We
rock despite rain and shitty weather!"
At our first Jaegermeister-gig we also had the opportunity to do a spontanous
interview with the nice guys of oe24.at -surprises included-
which you can watch here
Pics of our concert are, as usual, already online, don't miss them!
Rock'n'Roll June kept what it promised but you won't be disappointed by
July either - 24th of July is party time for all our dear
ROOGA fans. Come to Szene Vienna and enjoy Vienna's biggest Rock n Roll
Beach party.
The event is called BIKINI ROCK which doesn't leave any
questions open, does it? Who dares to turn up in Bikini or similar beach/swimming
clothes will be rewarded with specials, presents and other pleasant surprises!
We are your personal ticket dealer for this awesome event so don't hesitate,
write a mail and get your tickets
now!
June 23rd 2009
And the award goes to.... YOU! The best fans one can imagine, thanks to your untiring voting activities it looks like we really have a realistic chance to play at Frequency 09! Yes!! Please keep that marvellous attitude you have and carry on voting for us daily because the whole voting-thing goes on until July 19th.
Furthermore you better get those old dancing shoes down from the attic
and practise some sun-dancing steps because we'd really appreciate some
sunrays on Friday when we're rocking the Viva Stage at
Donauinselfest.
We've already had enough of this shitty rainy weather, don't you think so?
We hope you'll be there supporting us, Friday 5 p.m. it
is, June keeps rockin and rollin!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
June 14th 2009
It's been a great week - 3 concerts in 6 days, no wonder 50% of ROOGA
called in sick. Friday at Bach, Saturday in Bad Waltersdorf at Rock The
Station and last but not least our absolute Highlight: Wednesday at Local
together with Hip Hop mates of Krieger des Lichts with a cool sound and
amazing crowd - people, you are seriously unbelievable
and you rocked the place as much as we did on stage if not more :)
Thanks a lot for your support!
"ROOGA" shouts in unison and 2 (!) encores more than just chased
Kati's and Klaus' nasty influenzas away - you definitely made our day!
We hope you enjoyed the new KROOGA des Lichts tune "Beggin For More"
as much as we did, because there might be more of this genre-kickin stuff
comin in the near future, who knows..
Pics of all 3 events are already online
- enjoy!
Now we've got about 2 weeks to recharge our worn out batteries and recover
then our watches say it's kick-your-ass-in-a-good-way-time again.
Friday 26th of June 17.00 is the exact time to be precise,
VIVA stage (Antenne Rock/Pop Bühne) is the place and
DONAUINSELFEST 2009 says the headline in big, fat capital
letters. Come and watch us demonstrating what it means to be a Jägerband
Austria.
Since we can't get enough of playing festivals once again our plea: Do us a favour and vote for us at FM4 Frequency Voting as we'd really like to rock on of those fancy, big stages. Just register and vote daily and get us there, it's fairly easy and won't take long - here's the link
So far so good - now take your time and relax before the bell, which tells us that ROOGA's Rock n Roll June's next round has just started, rings again.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------June 3rd 2009
Check this out: You'll never guess who called us Friday 6 p.m.?! No, not Nickelback you retard, be realistic for once.
It was the guys of EXCUSE ME MOSES who asked us if we could kind of jump in for their support act that called their gig off at rather short notice.
"So what, where's the catch?" I hear you sayin. A support for EXCUSE ME MOSES is a nice thing, isn't it? The catch was that they needed us the very same day, more precisely speaking at half past eight, which left us with about two hours to get our equipment together, load the cars, get dressed, restring guitars and write some fancy setlists.
To cut a long story short: Of course we accepted the spontanous offer and played the gig, arrived just in time (ROOGA aka the Fast and the Furious) and rocked the stage, it really was a lot of fun and in spite of having a pretty short soundcheck (people were already outside waiting to get in) we very much enjoyed the concert and the whole evening.
Pics are already online check them out! More pics @ party.at
The cool thing is: Rock'n'Roll June, as we would like to call this month, has just begun - there's a lot of ROOGA in it for you so check our tour dates, the summer's gonna be HOT!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------May 19th 2009
What a weekend! Unfortunately we didn't make it at the UTV awards but who's in a huff? Definitely not us, nevermind... Congratulations to the winner's videos anyway.
The concerts in Wels and at the University of
Rock have been a lot of fun, besides we met some really cool people
and hopefully rocked the audience's socks off.
Pics are already online, more to come
here.
No need to get all frustrated and depressed just because you've missed
those fancy concerts cause there's a lot more of them on our schedule in
the next weeks just check our page for dates and details.
We'd be especially delighted to see you on the 10th of June in Vienna
at Local when we are sharing stage and mics with our dear Hip Hop
mates "KRIEGER DES LICHTS" of the famous Vienna
Art Lab.
As you party people are always beggin for new material we will present our
new song "Beggin for more" featuring Die Krieger
des Lichts.
In addition your generous Roogas will give away 3x2 tickets
for this event to help our fans save their hard-earned cash.
All you've got to do is be creative, word-wise and complete the following
sentence in an awesome, totally original, breathtaking way: "ROOGA
got me beggin for more ............................... "??
Fill in.
We are really looking forward to your ideas, send your suggestions
to band@rooga.at win free tickets
and a special surprise!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 8th 2009
Good morning! There we are, still trembling and pretty excited by our support
gig of funkmaster T.M.Stevens, who is by the way a totally
nice and friendly fellow, and his breathtaking Shocka-Zooloo crew.
For those who missed the show: pics are already online!
Next week the action continues, we proudly announce that our videoclip to
the song "Oryx" has been nominated for the UTV Musicvideoaward
and is right now among the top ten videos! Next Thursday, the 14th,
8 p.m., the presentation and election of the 3 winning videos will be presented
in Klub Ost. Come around and support us, cause there's an audience voting
as well.
But there are also some live concerts on our schedule, namely next Friday,
the 15th in NÖFAS / Wels and then Saturday the 16th
in Vienna, TU Fest, University of Rock together with highly entertaining
musical buddies Hog Meets Frog.
So there's a lot of Rooga out there...come and get it!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 19th 2009

improved, slightly modified new ROOGA homepage!!
